The last few weeks I have been quiet..

You may (or may not have noticed, if you are not on my account a lot) that the last couple of weeks I have been quiet.

I’ll be honest, it’s been a sh*t show & I haven’t really known how to show up for you, when all I have been trying to do is carry on.

The sh*t show started when I was due to go to @Hannahwalkers amazing Business and Books retreat for the week, but the night before I fell really unwell with Flu and couldn’t make it, so ended up in bed for the next 5 days, feeling miserable and sorry for myself (it’s okay to do that sometimes you know!).

But, that was just the start..

On the Thursday evening, I noticed Barney (my right arm, shadow and fluffy sidekick) just wasn’t himself. He was slow, not eating and not moving much.. so off to the vets we went.

After them admitting him, and a long night of tests he passed away Friday morning while they were doing one final test & my world fell apart.

10 years of him being by side, through thick and thin and suddenly that was it, he was gone.

They say when you loose a pet, it’s a different kind of grief, a loss that takes a little bit of you with them & if I am honest, I expected it to hurt, but not like it did & still does.

The house is quiet, my mind plays tricks on me & life without him just doesn’t feel right.

I’m sharing because, socials isn’t about all the sparkly, magical stuff.

It’s also about the raw, painful and emotional stuff.

So, Note to self: Be kind to ME, allow me the time when I need it & time is a great healer.
